We've partnered up with our sustainably-minded friends at Union Hand-Roasted Coffee to create 3 coffee inclusion bars.

MARABA, RWANDA

Fruity, full bodied and perfectly balanced. The world's first Rwandan specialty coffee. Grown by Abahuzamugambi Ba Kawa (though we just call them Maraba). Union Hand-Roasted Coffee began trading with Maraba in 2002. They were just a small group of farmers, back then. Today, they’re a co-operative of 1,500.

Varietal: Red Bourbon

Altitude: 1750m ASL

The rarest cacao in the world is combined with this fantastic coffee. Notoriously temperamental but delicious when tamed, we hope you enjoy the Solkiki interpretation of the Fortunato No. 4 bean.   Into this sophisticated, potent and fruity chocolate, we add the coffee to trigger even more flavours during the very long luxurious melt.    A delicate balance allowing you to taste both coffee AND cacao.

Allergen information: contains no nuts, dairy, wheat, gluten, or soy (nut-free, dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free). Made in a facility that uses nuts and soy. Vegan friendly.

  • Harvest day on Don Fortunato’s farm is special, since this is the site of the Mother Tree. This tree possesses DNA identical to the genetic marker for Pure Nacional found in the 5,300 entry, world genetic database. Don Fortunato and his wife participate in the harvest and, utilizing machetes, open pods and assist in removing the beans. Sealed buckets with wet cacao beans are transported on Fortunato’s burro from the farm, to the family home, weighed on a digital scale and Don Fortunato is paid immediately before the fermentation process begins that same day.
